(V.I.R.) Virginia International Raceway featuring the music of Fighting Instinct

Most racers would not have considered what happened to the R12 team at Virginia International Speedway to have been a successful race weekend. Then again, we're not like most teams. During the qualifying period Clint was motoring down the mid-section of the raceway when he hit a patch of fluid. The R12 car skidded off course making contact with tire and concrete barriers.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

As the battered machine came into view of the pits, it was immediately evident that the wreck had done significant damage. The radiator was busted, the front nose demolished and the rear deck was in shambles. It was decision time, we could load up and head for the shop or we could roll up our sleeves and get to work.

Tools began to fly as everyone, including the youth volunteers that were with us sprang into action. The buzz of the garage area became the way that everyone was working to put the R12 machine back in racing order. Crew members from other teams came over to offer their help and support which gave us the oppotunity to fellowship with people we would otherwise not have had the opportunity to meet.

No, we wouldn't have laid the day out this way if it had been our choice. Then again, we work for a God who lays perfect plans and doesn't make mistakes. We didn't win the race, but we definetly had a successful outing.
